We completed our reports concerning January hits/click-throughs and actual sales. The general traffic to our pages increased, with gift deals and the main page accounting for the surge, while the CTR rate remained stable and actual sales stayed in line with the strong volumes reported for online retailers in both UK and Ireland (about 16% increase).
The best conversion rate so far is on free SIMs – we started initially with O2 for Ireland and the response was immediate. About the same time Vodafone UK were asking their partners for suggestions about new promotions – we came up with the free SIMs and deals on short term contracts (30-days) and probably they found it a good idea as a couple of days later we were publishing both. Only recently we added the T-Mobile free SIMs offer as well – still waiting for it to take off, since they give 2 SIMs on registration, double the credit and £10 Free credit on top-up for the weekend.
There were good deals on the Irish market as well - Dell offered longer than usual coupon codes for their Inspiron, Studio, XPS and Vostro systems and Pixmania is still selling the Samsung CLP-310 Colour Printer for €99 by the time I am writing this article.
February started strong due to Valentine’s Day special promotions – expect strong conversion on fragranceX.com with their worldwide free delivery coupon and good response on the fashion brands as well. Among the new stores listed expect Laura Ashley and Boden, long overdue because of the insufficient recommendations and reviews we were able to gather first hand.
This is everything about our first aftermath report – if interested to know more please comment and we will try to answer all your questions.
